Below is a picture I found online that an artist made. I chose this panting because I found it extremely interesting and it really caught my eye. This particular artist chose nice, cool colors to create this piece. I think the artist felt soothed and calm while creating this piece of work. I say this because she chose blue, red and orange. Also, because she has butterflies and flowers displayed in the painting too. The artist mixed and blended some colors to make look as if this painting is to separate artworks. As you can see, I have came up with many different reasons on how this artist may have felt while creating this picture. I think was happy and calm.

The artist I chose to was Shepard Fairey. Shepard Fairy is an extremely famous portrait artist who creates many nice portraits. One of his famous portraits is the one displayed below. This is a picture of President Barack Obama with the words, HOPE and PROGRESS. This portrait shows many S.P.R.I.T.E categories, such as social, and political. The first social aspect of this portrait is that it was made to Barack's people. It can also be seen socially because it is letting it be known that our country has hope, and will progress.. The politically feature of this portrait is that he is the President of the United States and it is encouraging him. It is also letting it be known that our country has. As you can see, Shepard did a fantastic job in displaying messages and providing strong encouragement with only using two words. The image of Barack Obama shows social and political evidence.

This is a portrait of Barack Obama telling people to vote for him. The message of this portrait was to try to convince people and to get them to vote for Barack Obama. He may have used this piece of artwork for campaigns and at voting polls. Sheppard put this artwork on posters, shirts, buttons, billboards, etc. Another message I received out of this artwork was to support him, and persuade people that he really wanted a huge change.

Carrie Mae Weems was a very great person. I found a lot of her artworks very inspiring. One of her artworks I chose to discuss that I felt mainly related to me, was the faded Black African American women from New York. I feel this particular piece of work compared to me the most because I normally portray this attitude. To expand my point of view, to me this image displays an African American woman who feels good about herself. This relates to me because no matter what others think I have this mindset each and everyday. Another reason this image relates to me is because she is standing like a model, and I model during my free time. The final reason why I chose this portrait was because she is an African American woman and i found this image very interesting. As stated before, this image of the faded woman related to me the most.

This is a picture of note someone wrote and a kid found it in the playground. This connects to me in many different ways. One way it connects to me is because when I was little, the other kids use to write notes like this to. For example, when I was younger, my friend Jasmine sent a note to someone and asked him did he like her. Another reason I chose this certain picture because I could never spell tomorrow. I found it extremely interesting to me because I did the same thing when I was child. As you can see, this image connected to me in many different ways.

In the picture above, it shows a picture of many different scarves. I show this picture because I feel nostalgia about scarves.  I feel nostalgia about scarves because when I was five years old, I received this scarf for my birthday and I loved it. I loved this scarf so much that I would not take it off. I still love scarves today too. My mother always reminds me of this day, every time she sees me with a scarf on, she mentions that her and my father had to wait until I fell asleep to remove the scarf. This scarf was really important, I had extremely nostalgic for this particular scarf.

Nat Goldin was an extremely great artist. Nat is a great example of a postmodern artist. Some examples that have helped me come up with this idea are that she has numerous artworks that depict representin’. Most of all Goldin’s paintings represent some type of message or concept. A great example where this can be pointed out would be the picture I used of the lady who had been abused. I found this an extremely outstanding way to approach the concept of representin’. As you can see this is the major reason why I would say Nat Goldin is considered a postmodern artist.
